Unavyokufa na Miaka 35 na Kuzikwa na Miaka 65

Kuna utaratibu fulani wa maisha ambao watu wengi sana kwenye jamii wanajikuta wanaufuata bila ya wao wenyewe kujua. Na kwakuwa watu wengi hawana mipango kwenye maisha yao wanajikuta wanafata kile ambacho kila mtu kwenye jamii anafanya.
  Kama una miaka zaidi ya thelathini na tano au kama umeshakaa kwenye ajira zaidi ya miaka mitano kuna uwezekano mkubwa umeshakufa na unasubiri kuzikwa. Kama bado hujafikia umri huo na bado hujakaa kwenye ajira kwa kipindi hiko bado haupo salama sana kwa sababu kama usipokuwa makini unaelekea kwenye kifo hicho cha ajabu.
  Kwa umri wowote ulionao, iwe umeshakufa ama unaelekea kufa(kifo ambacho nitakielezea hivi punde) ni vyema ukasoma hapa na kubadili maisha yako ili uanze kuishi tena.

  Kabla hujajiridhisha na jibu kwamba matatizo yote yanatokana na kukosa fedha fikiria hivi kwanza. Umewahi kugundua kwamba watu wengi huwa wanaishiwa fedha sawa licha ya kuwa na vipato tofauti? Kwa mfano wafanyakazi wengi kila inapokaribia mwisho wa mwezi(kuanzia tarehe ishirini na) wanakuwa ‘wamefulia’, yaani anaepata laki moja, milioni moja na hata milioni tano kwa mwezi bado wote wanaimba wimbo ule ule unapfika mwisho wa mwezi!!

Reason of why You’re Exhausted.

 

Your work could be zapping your energy… but not in the way, 

You know those “Do Not Disturb” signs you can put outside your hotel room? You might want to get one for your desk: Interruptions in the office can make you feel exhausted all the time, according to a new study published in the International Journal of Stress Management.
For the study, researchers surveyed 252 people about how often they were interrupted during a typical workday, as well as what their overall stress levels were during the month prior to the study. They found that the more people were interrupted—whether it was because of a person stopping by, an e-mail notification, or a phone ringing—the more mentally drained and physically exhausted they reported feeling.
Why? This particular study didn’t look into the mechanism, but researchers hypothesize that intrusions can cause the body to overproduce cortisol (a stress hormone), which can leave you feeling more tired. “You shouldn’t just worry about the time that’s lost during an intrusion,” says lead study author Bing Lin, a Ph.D. candidate in the department of psychology at Portland State University. “Our study shows that they can have detrimental psychological costs on people, as well.”
Of course, they’re called interruptions for a reason: They’re unpredictable and difficult to control. But taking preventive measures to minimize disturbances is possible. Just take these small steps to slash your mental and physical exhaustion ASAP:

Customize Your Notifications
It’s pretty much impossible to not check your e-mail when you hear that “ding.” Luckily, most e-mail servers let people change the system preferences so that you only receive alerts when certain people contact you (like your supervisor), says Laura Stack, author of What to Do When There’s Too Much to Do. The same goes for putting your phone on silent (not vibrate). By switching your computer’s and smartphone’s settings, you’ll be able to deal with high-priority messages now and worry about the not-so-important ones later.

“Schedule” Interruptions
Remember how in college your professor held office hours? It’s a smart strategy to follow suit and set aside a specific time for people to swing by to talk to you, says Stack. This way they’ll be less tempted to stop in when you’re in the middle of something and aren’t expecting them. Also, check in with co-workers to see if they need help with anything before you dive into a big project, says Stack. A quick “I’m going to be buried in these expense reports for the next two hours—so feel free to give me a call in the next 15 minutes if you need something before then!” should send the message that you don’t want to be interrupted after that window.

Wear Headphones
When your office neighbors get a little rowdy, sometimes the only thing you can do is drown out the noise. “You can’t help but listen to someone’s conversation in an open office space,” says Stack. While plugging in headphones won’t stop someone from tapping you on the shoulder, it might make them think twice before speaking to you—and at the very least, it’ll help protect you from the noise of six people chatting about Sunday’s football game. Can’t work while you listen to music? Sound-canceling or –minimizing headphones can also do the trick—even if they aren’t playing anything.

Namna ya Kuondoa kadhia ya ladha chungu mdomoni wakati wa ujauzito

Mojawapo ya mabadiliko wanayoyapata baadhi ya wanawake wajawazito ni pamoja na ladha chungu inayokerehesha mdomoni hasa miezi mitatu ya mwanzo ya ujauzito, kitaalamu, huitwa dysgeusia.

Hali hii si jambo la kumshitua mjamzito na kudhani ni dalili kuwa kuna hatari inayojitokeza kwake ama kwa k/viumbe tumboni mwake, bali ni hali inayosababishwa na mabadiliko ya vichocheo (hormones) mwilini hasa kiwango cha estrogen. Vile vile
huweza kuchangiwa na vidonge vya kuongeza vitamini ama vichocheo kadiri alivyokuagiza daktari ama mhudumu wa afya kutumia.

Estrogen huathiri kubadili milango ya hisia zinazohusika na ladha (taste) na kwa kuwa sehemu hii inakaribiana na milango ya hisia za kunusa, wakati mwingine huathiri pia harufu anayovuta mjamzito.

Kwa baadhi ya wajawazito, hali hii si ya kudumu kwa miezi yote ya kipindi cha ujauzito, kwani wengi wameripoti kuwa hundoka baada ya miezi mitatu ya mwanzo ya ujauzito (first trimester) baada ya vichocheo kutulizana mwilini, ingawaje wapo ambao wamesema ilibidi kuishi katika maudhi hayo kwa kipindi kizima cha ujauzito hadi siku chache baada ya kujifungua.

Jinsi ya kupambana na hali hii

Tumia vyakula au vinywaji vyenye asidi ambavyo licha ya kukata ladha chungu mdomoni, pia vitaongeza kiwango cha mate mdomoni ambayo yanasaidia kuosha na kuondosha uchungu wenyewe. Vyakula hivi pia husaidia kurekebisha kiwango cha pH kinachohusika na usahihi wa asidi na alkali mwilini.

  1. Matunda au juisi zenye uchachu/ugwadu kama vile malimao, machungwa, machenza, nyanya, matofaa, ukwaju, mabungo, ng’ong’o, ubuyu, maembe n.k. (hapa ndipo ilipo rahisi kuelewa ni kwa nini wajawazito huonekana wanapenda vitu vichachu)

  2. Weka siki (vinegar) kidogo  kwenye chakula

  3. Tumia chachandu na ‘pickle’ 

  4. Safisha ulimi kwa mswaki mara kwa mara

  5. Sukutua kwa maji yenye chumvi (kwa kipimo cha kijiko kimoja cha chai kwenye bilauri moja ya maji. Unaweza kuongeza ama kupunguza kadiri ulimi wako unavyoweza kuvumilia). 

  6. Sukutua kwa maji yenye magadi/baking soda (siyo baking powder, hivi ni vitu viwili tofauti) kwa kipimo cha robo kijiko cha chai kwa bilauri moja ya maj. Unaweza kuongeza ama kupunguza kadiri ulimi wako unavyoweza kuvumilia)

  7. Tafuna gum (Bazooka, BiG n.k.)

  8. Nunua pipi zenye ladha ya machungwa, malimao au mint

  9. Kunywa maji ama supu au chai ili kusaidia kusafisha ziada ya vichoche inayotolewa mwilini kama sumu. Kwa kufanya hivyo, unaharakisha kuiondoa mwilini na hivyo kupunguza maudhi yake(kama ianvyoshauriwa kunywa maji mengi ukiwa unatumia antibiotic)

  10. Pata ushauri kutoka kwa mtaalamu wa uzazi na wajawazito endapo unatumia vidonge vya vitamin au vichocheo ambavyo vinaweza kuchangia hali hii, yeye atakushauri vyema cha kufanya.

How to Prepare for Pregnancy - Important tips to read

How to Prepare for Pregnancy – Why is it important to prepare for pregnancy?
You probably won’t know you are pregnant for the first three to four weeks. By then, your baby is already forming major organs and structures. Some medicines, illnesses, or bad habits (like smoking or drinking alcohol) can affect your baby before you even know you are pregnant. To be safe, you should act like you are already pregnant before you try to get pregnant.

When should I see my doctor?
Get a checkup from your doctor before you try to get pregnant. Your doctor will ask you and the baby’s father about your medical and family histories. You can discuss your pregnancy plans with your doctor and ask questions.

Is exercise okay?
Yes. Regular moderate exercise is good for you and your baby and can be continued during pregnancy. Do not get overheated and avoid using hot tubs in early pregnancy. If you plan to do any especially vigorous forms of exercise, discuss this with your doctor first.

Should I take vitamins?
Taking 400 micrograms of folic acid (a B vitamin) every day before you become pregnant and during early pregnancy helps prevent birth defects of the brain and spinal cord. It is safe to take a daily multivitamin tablet. Avoid high doses of vitamins because they can be harmful.

Do I need to change my diet?
You should eat a balanced diet with foods rich in folic acid, such as green leafy vegetables, broccoli, oranges, and bananas. Your diet should also include enough iron and calcium. If you cannot drink milk, you can get calcium from fortified orange juice, fortified breads and cereals, or calcium supplements. Do not drink more than two cups of coffee or six glasses of tea or soda per day. Try to reach a healthy weight before pregnancy. Women who are very overweight or underweight may have more problems with pregnancy. You should not be on a weight-loss diet during pregnancy.

What else should I avoid?
You should avoid toxic substances and chemicals at work and at home. Smoking cigarettes increases your risk of miscarriage or having a baby with a low birth weight. Your doctor can help you stop smoking. Alcohol and illegal drugs such as cocaine, marijuana, and heroin can cause birth defects or other problems in your baby. If you cannot stop using drugs, ask your doctor for help.

What do I need to know about genetic diseases?
The older you are, especially if you are older than 35, the higher your risk for having a baby with Down syndrome or other genetic problems. You can be tested for some of these problems during your pregnancy.
If you have a high risk of passing a genetic disease to your baby, your doctor can refer you to a genetic counselor for education and help. People who are black or from the Middle East or India can be tested for sickle cell disease and thalassemia. If your family is from the region of the Mediterranean Sea or Southeastern Asia, you might be screened for thalassemia. If your family is of European Jewish or French Canadian origin, consider screening for Tay-Sachs disease. If you or the baby’s father has a family history of cystic fibrosis or congenital hearing loss, you might be tested to see if you carry one of these traits. There are many other genetic diseases that can be detected by testing. Problems in previous pregnancies, such as repeated early miscarriages, may show a need for genetic evaluation.


What tests should I have before I get pregnant?
You should consider testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), such as HIV and syphilis. Treatment can prevent you from passing a virus to your baby. Other STDs such as gonorrhea and chlamydia should be treated before pregnancy.

Do I need any immunizations?
If you are not immune to rubella, you will need a booster shot of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) at least one month before you get pregnant. If you have never had chickenpox, you should have two injections of this vaccine at least one month before pregnancy. You may need the series of three hepatitis B vaccines if you have not had them before. A flu shot is also recommended for pregnant women, usually between October and December.

What can I do to avoid infections?
Pregnant women should not clean a cat’s litter box and should wear gloves while gardening. Pregnant women should eat meat only if it is well cooked. These precautions help protect against toxoplasmosis, an infection that can cause birth defects. Women in child care or health care jobs should wash their hands often. They should also use gloves when touching body fluids of sick children to protect from viral infections that can harm the growing baby.

What if I have health problems?
If you take any medicines regularly, ask your doctor if you can take them when you are pregnant. If you have diabetes, hypertension, asthma, or epilepsy, the condition should be well controlled before pregnancy.

When should I stop taking my birth control pills?
Discuss this with your doctor. Usually, you should stop birth control pills at least two months before trying to get pregnant. Then your periods can return and your cycles can be tracked. However, it will not hurt the baby if you get pregnant right after stopping the pill.

Can I work during my pregnancy?
Most women without special risks can work during pregnancy. Physical jobs may need to be modified during pregnancy. Sometimes, problems occur during pregnancy, and you may need to take time off from work. Be sure you understand your employer’s rules about parental leave benefits as well as the maternity coverage of your health insurance plan. Consider putting money into savings to cover your expenses if you have to take time off work during pregnancy.

ZIJUE FAIDA ZA MATUNDA HAYA ILI KUBORESHA AFYA YAKO

 

Kuna faida nyingi za kula matunda licha ya kupenda ladha tamu za  matunda tunayokula. Matunda yana virutubisho vingi ikiwa vitamin A na C hupatikana kwenye matunda mengi ukilinganisha na virutubisho vingine vilivyopo kwenye matunda mengine.
Matunda husaidia kupunguza matatizo ya moyo( heart diseases ), stroke ( kiharusi ), shinikizo la damu ( blood pressure ), cholesterol, aina mbalimbali za saratani (cancer ), matatizo ya uwezo wa macho kuona na mengine mengi.
Matunda yote yana manufaa kwa miili yetu lakini napenda ujue haya machache kuhusu faida za apple, parachichi, ndizi, zabibu, embe, chungwa, papai na nanasi. Matunda haya niliyoyataja huwa tumezoea kuyala lakini naamini wengi wetu hatujui sana kuhusu ni vitu gani tunanufaika kutokana na kula matunda haya.
Zijue faida za matunda.....

APPLE.

-Hupunguza uwezekano wa kupata kisukari ( diabetes ) na pumu (asthma )

-Husaidia kinywa kutokuwa na harufu mbaya ( natural mouth fresher )  vilevile apple husafisha meno kila unapotafuna.

Je Unajua? Harufu nzuri ya apple hupatikana kwenye maganda/ngozi yake, hivyo ni vyema ukalitafuna pasipo kulimenya kwani vitamin nyingi pia hupatikana kwenye maganda/ngozi ya juu.

PARACHICHI.

-Ni chanzo cha vitamin E.

-Hupunguza kiwango cha cholesterol mwilini.

-Kwa afya njema ya moyo wako, kwenye sandwich au mkate tumia parachichi badala ya siagi.

Je Unajua? Watoto hupenda sana kula parachichi kwasababu ni laini na pia mafuta ya parachichi husaidia katika kukuwa kwa mtoto na kuwa mwenye afya bora.

NDIZI.

-Ni chanzo cha vitamin B6 na madini ya potassium.

-Licha ya kuwa na ladha nzuri, ndizi zina madini mengi ya potassium ukilinganisha na matunda mengine ambayo husaidia kupunguza ongezeko la shinikizo la damu ( blood pressure ).

Je Unajua? Watu wenye aleji na material ya mpira( rubber latex ) wanaweza pia kuathirika kwa aleji ya ndizi kwakuwa mpira na ndizi vyote zina aina moja ya protini.

ZABIBU.

-Ni chanzo cha madini ya manganese.

-Hupunguza uwezekano wa kupata maradhi ya moyo kwa kusaidia kushusha kiwango cha shinikizo la damu ( blood pressure )

-Huepusha magonjwa ya aina mbalimbali za saratani kwa kuzuia usambaaji wa seli za saratani ya titi ( breast cancer ), tumbo ( stomach cancer ) na utumbo ( colon cancer ).

Je Unajua? Unaweza gandisha zabibu za kijani na nyekundu na ukazitumia kama barafu ( ice cubes ) kwenye kinywaji chako upendacho.

EMBE.

-Ni chanzo cha vitamin A na E.

-Vitamin A  iliyopo kwenye embe husaidia kuboresha macho yako kwa kukuwezesha uweze kuona vizuri. Pia husaidia kupunguza uwezekano wa upofu kwa wazee kwa kuimarisha macho yao.

Je Unajua? Embe ni tamu sana likiwa limeiva lakini pia likiwa bichi unaweza kutumia embe kutengenezea kachumbari, achali, chutney na salad.

CHUNGWA.

-Ni chanzo cha vitamin C na madini ya potassium.

-Chungwa lina vitamin inayojulikana kama ‘’folate’’ ( B-Group Vitamin ) ambayo husaidia katika kujengeka kwa ubongo wa mtoto kwa mama mjamzito.

-Chungwa lina kemikali zinazojulikana kama ‘’hesperidin’’ ambazo hupunguza kiwango cha cholesterol kwenye damu.

Je Unajua? Sehemu nyeupe ya chungwa ( gome lililo ndani ya chungwa ) lina thamani ya vitamin karibia sawa na nyama ya chungwa hivyo ni vyema kula chungwa lote baada ya kumenya maganda yake.

PAPAI.

-Ni chanzo cha vitamin A na C.

-Papai lina enzyme ijulikanayo kama ‘’papain’’ ambayo husaidia katika kusaga au mmeng’enyeko wa chakula.

-Pia vitamin A iliyopo kwanye papai husaidia husaidia kuboresha afya ya ngozi yako.

Je Unajua? Mbegu nyeusi za papai zinaweza kuliwa japo kuwa ni chungu lakini unaweza kuzisaga na salad kwa kutumia blender badala ya pili.

NANASI.

-Nanasi lina enzyme asilia ijulikanayo kama ‘’bromelain’’ ambayo husaidia kuvunjavunja  protini hivyo husaidia katika mmeng’enyeko wa chakula.

-Vilevile enzyme ya bromelain husaidia kupunguza ukuaji wa seli za saratani na kuchochea uponaji wa vidonda kwa haraka.

Kwa hayo machache hapo juu unaona ni jinsi gani matunda yalivyo muhimu kwa kujenga afya zetu na kutumika kama dama kwa miili yetu. Napendekeza upende kula angalau tunda moja kwa siku kwa uboreshaji wa afya yako.

ZIJUE FAIDA ZA KULA NDIZI MBIVU

 

Ndizi ni matunda yanayopatikana kila mahali. Siku hizi kila penye kioski au grocery ya matunda ni rahisi kupata ndizi. Ndizi hizo huuzwa kwa bei ya kawaida tu kwako kuweza kununua. Ndizi ni tunda lenye rangi ya kijani liwapo bichi na rangi ya njano likiwa limeiva vizuri. Tumezoea kuona ndizi kwenye migomba shambani au vichane vya ndizi sokoni tunapokwenda kununua vitu mbalimbali kwaajili ya mlo. Swali ni, je tumeshawahi kujuiliza ni faida gani tunapata tunapokula ndizi hizo?


Labda huu ni wakati sahihi sasa tujue manufaa ya kula ndizi mbivu. Na hapa ni baadhi ya faida za kula tunda hili zuri na lenye lanya tamu.

1. Ndizi ni tunda lenye vitamin nyingi na madini kadhaa.
-Vitamin B6 na C hupatikana kwenye ndizi. Vitamin B6 ipo katika kiwango kikubwa kwenye ndizi ukilinganisha na Vitamin C ambayo ni kidogo. Madini yanayopatikana kwenye ndizi ni magnesium, manganese na potassium. Madini ya magnesium na manganese yana compound inayojulikana kama ‘’cytokinin’’ ambayo huongeza idadi ya chembe chembe nyeupe za damu hivyo huboresha na kuongeza kinga ya mwili. Madini ya potassium nayo husaidia kudhibiti shinikizo kubwa la damu (high blood pressure) na kuimarisha utendaji kazi wa moyo. Vile vile madini ya potassium huzuia upotevu wa madini muhimu ya calcium mwilini ambayo hutumika katika utengenezaji wa mifupa. Kwa kifupi vitamins na madini yanayopatikana kwenye ndizi husaidia kupambana na seli za saratani.

2. Ndizi husaidia kupambana na vidonda vya tumbo.
-Sio tu kwamba ndizi hupambana na seli za saratani lakini pia hukinga tumbo kupata vidonda vya tumbo kwa uwezo wa compounds mbalimbali  ilizonazo. Compounds hizi zinazopatikana kwenye ndizi hujenga tabaka nene kwenye kuta za tumbo ambazo hukinga tumbo kuathirika na tindikali ijulikanayo kama ‘’hydrochloric acid’’. Pia ndizi zina enzyme inayojulikana kama ‘’protease inhibitor’’ ambayo huzuia bakteria wasababishao vidonda vya tumbo. Huh,…ni faida ilioje. Yani ukila ndizi tu unaweza usimwone daktari kwaajili ya tatizo la vidonda vya tumbo.

3. Ndizi huboresha ngozi.
-Kama ilivyo ngozi yako maganda ya ndizi nayo ni muhimu pia kwani yanaweza kupendezesha kabisa ngozi yako kama yakisagwa vizuri na matunda mengine kama parachichi. Virutubisho hivyo kwa pamoja hulainisha ngozi na kuifanya yenye muonekano mzuri wa kung’aa.

4. Ndizi huongeza nguvu mwilini.
-Ili uweze kufanya kazi zako kwa umahiri ni lazima mwili uwe na nguvu. Ndizi mbivu huwa na sukari ujulikanayo kama ‘’glucose’’ ambayo huongeza nguvu mwilini. Sukari hii inahitajika katika kiasi maalum mwilini.

5. Kambakamba za kwenye ndizi  husaidia kuimarisha mfumo wa chakula.
-Ni kweli kabisa kambakamba za kwenye ndizi husaidia chakula kuteleza vizuri kwenye njia ya chakula. Kwa maana hiyo chakula kinaweza kupita kirahisi bila kipingamizi.

6. Hii labda ndio ulikuwa hujui kabisa ‘’ndizi husaidia kupunguza stress na kukufanya uwe katika mood nzuri.’’
-Unaweza kujiuliza kivipi? Kama ulikuwa hujui ndizi zina kemikali mahsusi iitwayo ‘’tryptophan’’ ambayo iwapo mwilini hubadilishwa na kuwa ‘’serotonin’’. Kemikali hii ya serotonin iwapo mwilini husaidia mtu ajisikie vizuri na kuwa katika mood nzuri na hatimaye kupunguza stress. (msongo wa mawazo)

 1. You have so many things to focus on besides some guy’s neuroses. The more brain space you devote to this bullshit, the less you have left for useful knowledge like basic geometry or getting a raise at work or how to make an awesome grilled cheese-and-avocado sandwich.
